A revamped British passport is all set to come in your hands. De La Rue has managed to bag the contract to design and produce this new look passport as stated by the Identity and Passport Service.
The immigrants will be able to use this new passport from October, 2010. The security features of this passport will be far tighter and it will also be equipped to store the finger-print biometrics within the passport. This new passport will reduce the risk in identity theft and the nation’s borders will be secured due to the process.
For the immigrants who always are required to carry the international travel documents, this passport will mean less hassle. As the IPS Chief Executive James Hall observes “The British passport is recognized as one of the best in the world and we want to keep it that way. Today we are affirming our commitment to making this travel document more secure than ever by using fingerprint biometrics”.
The British immigrants will be able to easily go forward with their travel plans across any country of the world due to the compact storage of definite information within it. The concerned authorities are of the opinion that it was extremely necessary for revamp of the British passport in order to keep pace with the changes in the security measures that are the need of the hour.
